Our journey with Abura began in vibrant Amsterdam, rooted in a deep love for each other and a shared passion for skincare.

Ever since our early days together in the relationship, we struggled to find the right skincare products that worked for both of us. With each of us having a unique skin structure, finding the perfect match seemed like an impossible task.

He cherished the memory of his visits to Ghana, where he was enchanted by the natural beauty of shea butter. Every time he came back to Amsterdam, he brought one of these rich, pure butters with him. While it worked wonders for his skin, it was left with a greasy residue and a signature scent that you had to love.

While she, inspired by the beauty rituals of Turkey, tried out a range of luxurious, sweet-smelling products. Although these products smelled wonderful, they were left with an unsatisfactory feeling on the skin.

From the melting pot of our personal journeys, where the magic of Ghanaian shea butter and the timeless finesse of Turkish beauty secrets come together, Abura was created.


After three years of disappointment with products that didn't work for us, we decided to experiment at the kitchen table with oils we brought back from Ghana and Turkey, where pure and natural oils are plentiful.

Ultimately, we found our way to a specialized dermatological factory, where we worked painstakingly for a year to develop the perfect formula: a harmonious blend of natural ingredients enriched with luxurious scents. This resulted in our first five body oils, each carefully infused with high-quality ingredients and unique aromas. In this way we have created a product line that meets various preferences and needs.
